Job Summary:

The Caregiver provides non-medical, in-home support services to clients that enable them to live independently and safely in their homes. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Caregiver delivers compassionate, person-centered care tailored to each client’s individualized service plan. This role involves assisting with personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility support in accordance with Virginia Department of Health regulations and CareBuilders at Home policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping duties and meal preparation
• Monitor and document changes in client conditions
• Document care provided and observations accurately using electronic systems.
• Uphold residents’ rights and ensure their privacy and dignity in all interactions.
• Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy client environment by following universal standards and precautions
• Provide companionship and social interaction to reduce isolation and improve client well-being
• Support mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and assistive devices when necessary.

Qualifications/ Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Virginia CNA, PCA, or HHA certification preferred
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation
• Must be able to physically perform the functions of the position (bending, stooping, using hands) and can lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Communication skills and ability to carry out instructions
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English
• Must pass a background check, drug test, and TB screening
